About Famous Jamas

Art has been the through-line of my entire life. I knew I wanted to be a professional artist around age 10, and I never really wavered from that. I was self-taught from the start — drawing, painting, experimenting — driven purely by the need to make things.

After high school I found my way to oil painting, and in my early 20s I had the good fortune of being mentored by a well-known artist from Pacific Grove, California. That experience sharpened my eye and deepened my craft, but it never changed my fundamental approach: I've always done things my own way.

Along the way I spent a decade learning glass blowing — another medium that demands total presence and rewards patience. That time taught me a lot about light, color, and the beauty of working with your hands.

I've never been drawn to the corporate gallery world. I'd rather connect directly with the people who live with my work. Every painting I make — whether it's a seascape, a landscape, a fantasy world, or a custom commission — is made with full commitment and no compromises.

I'm Famous Jamas. This is my art. I hope something here speaks to you.
